Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for organizing and conducting occupational therapy program in facility to facilitate rehabilitation of mentally or physically handicapped. Primary functions are to provide applicable occupational therapy care for patients with various diagnoses for a significant coordinated provider of regional health care services in the Southern California area.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Interprets the physician's prescriptions, evaluates the patient's level of function to determine plans and assists in diagnosis.
  • Recommends appropriate treatment activities to achieve therapeutic objectives, ensuring consistent approaches are carried out.
  • Communicates with the treatment staff concerning specific and total treatment aims and written reports of patients' evaluations and progress.
  • Participates actively in unit level conferences of assigned service.
  • Maintains records and makes reports concerning patient care activities and treatment area operations.


Minimum Education: Occupational Therapy degree from an Accredited Occupational Therapy School approved by the Medical Association and with A.O.T.A.

Minimum Experience: New Occupational Therapy Graduate, or a therapist with experience in physical disability within an acute care and/or subacute hospital setting preferred.

Req. Certification/Licensure: A valid A.O.T.A. registration; A.O.T.A. registered member of Southern California Chapter of A.O.T.A.  American Heart Association (BLS) preferred. California Occupational Therapy (OT) license.
