Human Resources (HR) Assistant

The Human Resources (HR) Assistant promotes, fosters and maintains customer satisfaction through friendly, effective and efficient handling of customer needs in person and on phone. Inputs various data into tracking systems. Supports employment process by reviewing applications, providing information on openings, scheduling appointments and physicals, maintaining forms and document supplies, following up on issues, submitting background checks, filing and handling correspondences.



Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Provides the highest level of service in greeting and assisting internal and external customers.
  • Reviews applications for completeness and communicates interview process.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills on the telephone and answers within 3 rings.
  • Is self-directed in assessing strengths and weaknesses and in identifying career and self-development activities.
  • Develops solutions to departmental problems.
  • Identifies and/or implements methods of controlling cost or generating revenue while providing maximum value to both the patient/customer and the department/Hospital.
  • Responsible for maintaining and filing all documents; organizes file room.
  • Timely logs applications and resumes in log book. Photocopies and distributes applications to appropriate departments.
  • Assist with meal ticket program.
  • Responsible for filing current licensure and certifications in employee files.
  • Processes subpoenas for employee records, assuring collection of accurate information, as well as appropriateness/legality of subpoenas.
  • Handles employment verification requests.
  • Sorts and distributes mail to and from the department. Distributes weekly employment opportunity list.
  • Assists Employee Transportation Coordinator with processing rideshare rewards, assisting in annual surveys and rideshare plans.
  • Schedules physicals for employee health appointments.
  • Prepares New Hire Packets and Benefit Packets. Order benefit materials as needed.
  • Ensures coverage of front desk during all work hours.
  • Maintains Form Centers in Human Resources.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. AA Degree preferred in Human Services, General Business or equivalent.

Minimum Experience: Two (2) years office experience, preferably in HR or healthcare facility. Must have strong organization, word processing and data entry skills. Must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service and effective communication skills.
