Senior Tax Accountant

The Senior Accountant or Tax Manager will assist in the effective and efficient operations of the tax area. This area should reflect Company values, IRS knowledge and compliance, excellent communication with subsidiaries and at the corporate level. This position is expected to identify best practices and consistently implement process improvements. This position reports to the Corporate Tax Director.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Assist with review and preparation of corporate/partnership federal and state income tax returns and related work papers.
  • Assist with quarterly estimated tax calculation and annual extensions for federal and state.
  • Manage and revises procedures by developing and streamlining worksheets for calculation of tax provisions.
  • Reviews tax accruals/provisions and associated working papers
  • Recommends tax strategies by researching federal, state, and local taxation issues.
  • Able to respond to IRS and state notices
  • Manages tax related administrative projects
  • Support Senior Management in the development and planning of objectives and budgets
  • Establishes good working relationships throughout the Company
  • Gathering and reviewing information provided by various subsidiaries
  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and imagination in approaching work
  • Assist with external auditor requests
  • Complete special tax projects as directed
  • Establishes workflow and timelines as it relates to projects
  • Develops and maintains an expertise in the taxation area
  • Keeps the Company informed of changes and developments in the taxation area


Minimum Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in accounting or other related program. Advanced degree preferred.

Minimum Experience: Min of two to six (2-6) years of experience in the tax department of public accounting or a tax department in industry required. Big four (4) and/or Public Accounting Experience preferred. Minimum of two (2) years in competently reviewing tax returns.

Req. Certification/Licensure: CPA or MPT license preferred.
