Payroll Project Manager (Temporary)

The Payroll Project Manager coordinates and manages assigned systems upgrades, optimizations and implementation projects.  Works closely with vendors, facility leadership, and department staff to successfully mitigate risks and complete project deliverables within the defined timeframe and established budget.  Appropriately applies project management principles to ensure the project is completed accurately, and efficiently with a focus on process improvement.  Ensures project outcomes meet all identified project objectives. 



Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Provides effective leadership while managing and coordinating all assigned systems upgrades, optimizations, and implementation products.  Ensures that projects achieve objectives on time and within budget.
  • Prepares and presents IT Payroll governance documents including business case, decision point, and project overview presentation.  Oversees quality of project work to assure high quality solution deployment.   Enables project progress by removing potential barriers, streamlining processes, and applying resources appropriately. 
  • Proactively analyzes project risks and formulates risk-mitigation plans to ensure project team meets commitments.  Engages necessary resources and leadership support to ensure uninterrupted progress towards objectives.  Updates project team documents, including project work plan, risk matrix, staffing plan, scope and deliverable schedule, and deployment schedule.   
  • Updates program documents, including project budgets, forecasts, decision point documents. Review budget forecasts and business cases with applicable stakeholders (finance, business owners, Leadership).  Manages expectations with clients on deliverables and dates related to client requests.  Establishes phased deliverables for enterprise projects and phased releases.  Produces and distributes project meeting notes and project status reports to key sponsors, clients, Management, and team members.  Hosts client update meetings.


Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or MIS or equivalent experience.

Minimum Experience: Four (4) years experience managing system implementations in the healthcare industry. Thorough understanding of major business application needs in an acute care setting such as: Cloud (SaaS - Software as A Service), SQL Server, AS400, RSK6000, ISeries, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, Lawson, SAP, ADP, Kronos, Workday. HCM/HRIS, Payroll, HR, Benefits, Position Control, ESS, API Time/Attendance, WFM, Talent Management, Compensation Management, Recruiting, Taleo. Ability to drive change within the organization.Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multitask and maintain a work pace appropriate to workload. Ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment. Must be experienced with PMP or other project management methodology SDLC, Agile, Waterfall, D4S, Gem Methodology, REP Methodology

Req. Certification/Licensure: PMP or other Project Management Certification preferred.
