Capital Buyer

At the direction of the Corporate Director of Capital Procurement, the Capital Buyer is responsible for ensuring Prospect Medical Holdings corporate guidelines are followed relating to the centralized procurement of capital equipment.  Purchases equipment for acute care facilities, clinics, and corporate offices.  Processes approved requests, places orders, reviews confirmations and monitors open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of equipment to the requesting locations.  Makes significant contributions to Supply Chain Management from a service, price, and quality perspective.    



Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Processes approved requisitions, issues purchase orders, tracks shipments and processes receiving documents. 
  • Reconciles price discrepancies with purchase orders, vendor price acknowledgements, and invoices.
  • Resolves disputes with vendors in a timely manner.  Escalates issues as needed.
  • Adapts quickly to new procedures and ensure adherence to corporate guidelines
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders in the requisition process
  • Undertakes ad-hoc assignments as required to react quickly and positively to new or emergent situations.
  • Prepares and provides timely and accurate progress reports on all pending and closed capital.


Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Minimum Experience: Three to five (3 to 5) years healthcare supply chain and/or purchasing experience. Capital equipment purchasing experience preferred. Extensive knowledge of medical equipment for acute care facilities and clinics. Excellent customer service skills including verbal and written communication. Proven analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills. Strong computer skills including MMIS (prefer Oracle Cloud). Familiar with benching marking tools such as ECRI. Ability to meet tight deadlines.
